Climate Goals and the 2030 Mandate
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is the shared global plan, adopted by the world's governments, for a fairer and more sustainable future by 2030. At its heart are the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs, which turn that ambition into concrete targets.
The SDGs span poverty, health, education, equality, climate, and nature, among others. They give governments, companies, and investors a common language for the outcomes the world is trying to achieve, and a framework for measuring progress toward them.
Several goals speak directly to Druid's mission, in particular the goals on climate action and on life on land, which call for protecting ecosystems, halting biodiversity loss, and combating climate change. These goals reframe nature as central to development, not separate from it.
Meeting the goals requires investment far beyond public budgets, so private capital is essential. Investors increasingly map their allocations to the SDGs, using them to define and communicate the outcomes their capital is meant to deliver.
A goal without measurement is a slogan. Progress toward the SDGs depends on data that is reliable and comparable, and verifiable environmental data is what lets capital show it is genuinely contributing. That is the role Druid Chain is built to play.
